… Black Arm Band

This week a friend put a call out for recommendations of strong and soothing women’s voices, and this song – Rainstorm – came to mind. Apart from the sheer beauty, for me the way the backing singers support the soloist somehow embodies the strength and resilience of the women of the oldest continuing culture on Earth. Powerful stuff.

I was lucky enough to see an open-air performance of this a few years ago. The magic and majesty are still in me.
